Tha ish: Project Runway Canada

I am lovin’ this current season of Project Runway Canada (pssst…it’s hosted by the extremely blunt and fab supermodel, Iman). I followed it last year (the first season) mainly because a friend’s cousin was on the program and I had to root for her. She didn’t win, but it was sorta cool that I kinda knew someone on TV.

I got into this cycle a few episodes into the season. It was fine at first; however, I’ve totally gotten to love the show because of three of the competitors- Sunny, Jessica and Adejoké.

They are technically the strongest designers, they have the best personality and they seem to be very likeable. Basically, they demonstrate on a weekly basis why they should be on the show.

Sunny

Everything that Sunny designs is flawless and receives high praise from the judges. BTW, I can see him winning the title of top Project Runway Designer. I like him because he seems very humble and very serious about his craft.

Jessica

I totally enjoy it when Jessica is on screen. Her designs are good, but I like her calm, chill personality more. Even when Genevieve and Kim (they are the cattiest b!%2hes ever!) are doggin’ her designs, she pays them no attention. Every time that they open their mouth and dog her, I actually hope and pray that she would haul off and slap them. Yes, I can be evil!

Adejoké

Adejoké is also

a very strong designer. It actually broke my heart to see her leave last night, especially since her outfit was so technically and esthetically strong. She was unfortunately kicked out of the game too soon (in my eyes!) due to being teamed up with Kim (one of the catty b%!#es). Since they were judged as a team and Kim’s designs weren’t up to par (her design was quite mugly!), they were both cut. I was hoping that Iman would step in and only cut Kim, but it was a team challenge. That seriously sucks for Adejoké.

The last two competitors are Jason and Genevieve. I don’t have much of an opinion of Jason, but Genevieve is such a nasty, immature person. I don’t like it that she belittles everyone and can’t handle criticism from the judges. I’m hoping she’s kicked off next week.

Okay, I guess you can tell that I’m a fan of the show! Well, that’s my tv dish for now.

Check out the show if you can and let me know what you think.

Tha ish: Turnin’ Me On- Keri Hilson

Forget the fact that this song is many months old, it’s still such a hot track. It’s such a hot track that I must listen to it on a daily.

I like how Keri’s voice straddles on being both slightly annoying and swaggerlicious. She starts off the song singing alongside a barely there accompaniment, and then a nice hip hop groove settles in and showcases her voice nicely.

The song itself is about how some men have that certain je ne sais quoi that turns you on, and also how some men don’t have game or the skills when approaching you
—which is a def turn off. I unfortunately meet men from the latter category.

I like her brazen self-assured attitude (and the different/edgy hairstyles that she rocks!) which doesn’t come off too arrogant (read: not Kanye-esque at all!), but simply confident.

More than midway through the song Lil Wayne enters and spits his lyrics. True, they are a bit juvenile, but you can always count on him to make a single hotter!

I know this song is a bit old, but it’s definitely worth a listen.

Tha ish: I found my childhood crush on Facebook

As stalkerish as that may sound, I didn’t actually go on a hunt for my childhood crush. I just casually logged into my Facebook account and saw that a friend added him. And I, without hesitation, added him too. I had no idea if it was the same guy that I had a crush on when I was an awkward teen, but I added him anyway.

I wasn’t thinking that once we added each other we’d get together, get married and have kids; I added him because I always wondered what happened to him. One minute he was in my grade 8 class and the next he and his family up and moved to the states. As a lovesick teenager, I was heartbroken when he left. I could no longer hear his childish jokes, nor would I be subjected to his innocent flirtations. I complained to my best friend ad nauseum of the injustice. (yes, I was dramatic back then too!)

Well it turns out the mystery man that I added really was my childhood crush! I sent him a few messages to see if he remembered me and he quickly responded.

We sent a few more messages to each other and that was it. Like I said, I added him for kicks, not to see if fireworks would go off and we’d live happily ever after. I will admit that seeing him on facebook did make me reminisce a bit, but elementary was like a lifetime ago and I’ve crushed on soooooo many other guys since then. It was cool seeing him though.
